For those members who don’t know why Keith Pitman got a Life Membership (if there is anyone), let me give a couple of reasons. Keith single handedly purchases, stocks, cleans and monitors the canteen. When there is a function, like the Drag races, he works in the bar and the kitchen – and he has been doing this for years. It started with the AGM in October, with the election of Committee Members and the appointment of Office Bearers. Barry Green and Adam Heath were elected to the Committee, and the Office Bearers are John Buchholz, Lloyd Hoskin, Adam Heath and myself. Ted Hardcastle runs the BBQ lunch every second Saturday of the month – and hopefully this will increase as more and more members and their families attend.

With much discussion among members at BAC it was decided that a group of us would again make the journey but this time include a return trip through the centre.We departed from various locations with first rendezvous planned for Horsham. I arrived first at around 9.30 am closely followed by three C180s, two from Geelong and one from Brisbane. Then a Mooney from Ararat a C206 and a Bonanza from Ballarat. While refueling at Horsham we were introduced by an old acquaintance to our travel new partners. It was clear from here that we were in for a great time.
