Commercial Pilot Licence (CPL)

There are many exciting opportunities for Commercial Pilots in Australia and overseas.  But prior to starting your training you will need to undergo a Commercial Pilot Licence medical to ensure you satisfy the required standards. 

 

The Commercial Pilot Licence (CPL) is the first of the professional pilot licences. It is an extension of knowledge and practical experience obtained at PPL level and is based on Visual Flight Rules (VFR). 

Your ground theory study incorporates; 

  • Aerodynamics

  • Aircraft systems and general knowledge

  • Meteorology. 

  • Navigation.

  • Operations performance and planning. 

  • Air Law. 

  • Human Factors.

 

To complete the CPL theory requirements you will be examined in all of these subject areas. 

 

The practical skill and experience required is a minimum of 200 flying hours, which includes; 

  • 100 hours in command   

  • Must be 18 years of age
